A popular belay device for trad and sport climbing on standard ropes (Single Rope 8.9-11.0mm | Half and Twin Ropes 8.1-11mm).

This is basically the same device as the ATC, but with teeth on one edge for extra friction. This makes it a better option than the ATC for use on skinny ropes. If you are going to be using half ropes for trad climbing or skinny single ropes for sport climbing then this device will be more suitable than a standard ATC.
